week 8 didn't work either.
For the Myoglobin IHC dying they had a problem with the antibody binding to the myoglobin. Something is decreasing there the result of the experiment. They need to go through there steps carefully and find which one is creating the problem.
They found that a possible reason that they were having this problem went back to the fixation drying out the tissue. Theye later found a solution to there problem.
The Oil-Red-O experiment was getting consistant results on the mice so the next step was to perform this experiment on the seals. There is no guarantee that they will have the same results on the seal as they did on the mice. Even though this is true they found that there were very few differences between the 2 animals meaning they need not make modifications.
Over the next few weeks they will continue with there tests and finish with there results.
This concludes my summary of the polar science experience. It broadened my mind greatly and inspired me to wonder why.
